Redemption

The central theme of this new art book publication is based on Redemption.

It is an introspective piece primarily going through the letters from friends both from Japan and overseas that I've gotten during times of hardship and tenderness. It depicts a journey of reading and seeing through the process of overcoming grief and loneliness, to finding belonging and purpose.

The images were selected through a catalogue of over 6000 photographs to choose from and other scanned memorabilia, and surfaces out on the streets using a portable scanner.

Each work is a 2 page spread color collage of handwritten letters, photographs, and printed matter.

Parallel to how I've implemented printed artifacts into this book, in the back of the book there will be a QR code for my recent album using field recordings around the world, "Redemption".
